Research with Autistic adults tells us that their eating disorder and their autism are deeply connected. Sensory sensitivities, differences in sensing hunger and fullness, and a need for predictability all shape eating difficulties and recovery. Support needs to fit autistic needs. We have just published this review that was led by my colleague, Becky Watts at Sheffield University and was co-authored by myself and my colleague, Sam Chawner at Cardiff University.
