Meet the Team

Dr Heidi Ashley

I'm Heidi, an experienced psychologist. I work passionately to help adults overcome their problems and get on with enjoying their lives.

If your problem's been bothering you for a while, didn't really shift when you tried therapy before, or returned once therapy ended, you shouldn't feel disheartened. My greatest joy and satisfaction as a schema therapist is helping clients like you to finally get unstuck and find freedom.

I work with people who are tired of feeling trapped by the past. They want to move past painful experiences and stop repeating patterns that don't work for them. Clients who work with me have usually struggled for a long time. Many have been in therapy before.

It is possible to get much more from therapy than simply insight or better coping skills. Your difficulties don't need to keep overshadowing your life. Every human being is hardwired to heal and to grow, and you are no exception.

How can I help you feel better?

My style is warm and involved and I'm skilled in many strategies that can help you bring about real and meaningful change. I work with adults whose problems typically stem from painful experiences in childhood. I help you overcome these by;

- building your awareness and understanding
- actively processing emotions
- helping you break free from problematic behaviour patterns

I worked for over 20 years in the NHS. I really enjoy being a schema therapist and am always learning so I can help my clients more effectively. My clients describe me as a calm and steady presence. I am LGBTQ+ allied.

So, if you've had enough of feeling rubbish, and feel ready for some change, please take the next step and contact me. I'd love to hear from you.
My areas of interest

I offer online sessions and work in-person from Glasgow. I am advanced certified as a schema therapist, trainer and supervisor.

I help with a range of difficulties such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, emotional abuse, low self-esteem or self-confidence, perfectionism and overwork. Lots of people reach out to me because their life feels empty and dissatisfying.

I specialise in helping people overcome childhood trauma (complex trauma), emotional abuse or neglect. Painful childhood experiences and trauma are at the heart of many problems.

I also provide therapy to other psychologists and therapists, a population I have enjoyed serving since the start of my private practice.
